Dry brushing: Step-by-step to exfoliate your skin
Although dry brushing, or dry brushing, is not a new technique, it has been deemed the best way to keep your skin clear of dead cells. Do you want to include it in your beauty routines for 2022?
What is dry brushing?
Dry brushing, a traditional Indian medicine known as Ayurveda is a practice that involves using a brush made from natural bristles to massage the entire body. This helps stimulate the circulatory and lymphatic systems. This is a great way to relax, and it also has many benefits such as:
- Skin exfoliation: Manual dry brushing removes dead skin cells from the top layer, improving skin appearance and making it more effective for topical treatments.
- Promoting circulation: Lymphatic drainage is the most popular benefit of the ritual. Dry brushing can be “detoxifying” because it works with your lymphatic system.

Find your brush
You can find online the best brushes with organic bristles that are suitable for all skin types. It doesn’t matter where it is purchased, the bristles should be stiff but not too abrasive. The handle should also be comfortable enough to use every day.

Prepare
Brushing is a good idea before you take a bath. To avoid dead skin cells flying around the bathroom, it’s best to stand while you’re in the shower. We think it will be very stimulating and that is why we recommend it in the morning.
-
Begin at the feet and work your way to the top.
Dry brushing has the goal of stimulating the lymph to the chest and upper body. The lymphatic fluid will then re-enter your bloodstream.
Begin at the top of your feet and work your way down to your knees, lower leg, and thigh. Treat your butt as an extension to your thigh when working on your back. Continue up into your lower back. Some recommend that you make circular movements for your stomach.
-
The top should be brushed
As you would start with your feet, work your way up to your heart with your hands. Begin by brushing your backs with your hands. Next, move around the forearm to reach the upper arm. Be careful when brushing under your upper arms as many lymph nodes can be found here.
-
Finish by finishing with the neck and neckline
This area of the body is delicate so be gentle. You are also not following the bottom-up method as this part is higher than the heart. Begin at the jawline and work your way to your chest. To end the exercise, move your heart in a circular motion over your chest.
-
Take a bath and hydrate
This will remove any dead skin cells from the body that were loosened by the brushing.
The product will be easier to absorb by the skin, so it is important that you use high-quality, natural ingredients after your dry brushing session. Always moisturize with damp skin
