Cubbon Park was established by John Meade in 1870. That is why this park initially was named Meade’s park, subsequently, it was called Cubbon park after some renovation and improvement in structure and features. Cubbon Park is under the Department of Horticulture and maintenance and administration are done under the responsibilities of the Deputy Director of horticulture.

In this park, many indigenous and exotic trees can be found. Cubbon Park is the main attraction where kids can play in the Bal Bhavan play area and aquarium inside the park.

BANGALORE PALACE

Bangalore palace was made in 1887, it was inspired by England Windsor castle as a result Bangalore palace has a Tudor style architecture with green lawns and elegant interior. 

The Royal family lives there. This palace is open to the public between 10:00 am to 05:00 pm

Bangalore palace has a royal charm. This palace originally belonged to Reverend J Garratt, who was a school principal. It was purchased by the Chamaraja Wadiyar and the construction of this palace started in 1873 and was completed in 1878. Subsequent renovations have been carried out since.

 ULSOOR LAKE

 

Ulsoor lake is one of the biggest lakes in Bangalore. This beautiful lake is located in the central part of the city. Boating can be done here. Ulsoor lake has so much to explore we suggest making a visit plan if your schedule is not tight and you have enough time to spend.

Ulsoor lake has an interesting historical fact. It is believed that this lake area once was covered in a thicket of the forest. Lord dreamed him and told him about the hidden treasure. When Kempegowda found that treasure he built the Someswara Pagoda and Ulsoor lake.

 

This lake is surrounded by very rich trees and plants and many species of fish. Although due to poor environment habitat only a few species of fish exist

NANDI HILLS

 

Nandi hills are situated 60km north of Bangalore, Nandi hills are formerly known as Nandidurg or Nandi betta. It was a summer retreat of the Tipu sultan. However, there are two different stories behind the origin of its name.  During the Chola period, Nandi hills WWE called Ananda Giri. Which means hills of happiness. Some say that Yoga andishwra performed his penance here and the hills are named after that. It is also said that Nandi hills resemble hills to a sleeping bull which is called Nandi. 

 

Tipu Sultan and his father Haider Ali have expanded the existing fort which was built by local feudatory chieftains. They succeed in converting the Nandi hills into a charming hill station. 

This place is perfect for adventure lovers who can try parasailing. If you like photography then go to Nandi hills and appreciate the beauty of mother nature. Nandi hills is a perfect picnic spot.
