Step 1
To begin this tutorial on how to stretch the skull, we will start with what is probably the most recognizable part of the skull: the horn! Use some curved lines first to make the top corners along the top of the skull. Then, to get a thicker horn, use some connecting jumble lines that twist as soon as they appear in our reference image. Once you’ve covered all these aspects, you’re ready for Lesson 2!
Step 2: Now sketch the bottom of the skull.
Now that you have completed the upper part of your skull drawing, we can begin to focus on the lower part in this second stage. The lower part of the skull begins at the base of the rough cheekbones and then narrows as it descends. As shown in our example, it will consist of several interconnected lines instead of being a continuous line. It will take care of the circle, and in the next few steps, we can focus on some details inside.
Step 3: Then, draw some details in the sketch.
For this third stage of the skull drawing tutorial, we will focus on the skull eyes and nasal socket. For the eyes, use some unusual dark shapes on both sides of the face. Try to make them as smooth as possible and keep them where we did in our example. Then use some thin black shapes for the nasal cavities. Once they are ready, we will add some curve details to the center of the skull, and then we can move on to the next section.
Step 4: Now, draw some details for the horn.
We’ll keep things simple for your step of making a cow skull. For now, we’ll focus on the skull horns. To do this, draw some curved lines from the outside of the horn line inwards. This will help the horns explain some of the structure and give them the rough shape of real horns. Once you’ve added these details, we can add the latest details in the next step, so go ahead!
Step 5: Make final adjustments to your calf skull drawing.
This part of our tutorial will be about how to draw a participant’s skull by adding some final details to complete it in a truly unique way. We will include enough line details in the drawing, but try not to get too confused because it is not as difficult as it seems! It is important to keep in mind that the skull should look symmetrical. With that in mind, look carefully at the reference image and try to make the first half of these details. Then it will be easier for you because you can photograph what is on the other side. Once you’re done decorating the skull, you can add some of your touches and details! You can add it to a perfect design or add some twisted details to get some ideas. What other ideas can you think of for ending this picture?
Step 6: Complete your skull drawing with some colors.
We will finish it with some color for this last step of drawing your ball skull. The color of the skulls is usually quite light and dull, and this is exactly the style of painting we used in our model. We used some shades of brown for the bull’s horns, while we used some light brown and gray for the skull to complete it. You can choose a similar color palette for a more realistic look, but there are many ways to complete this drawing! By combining some more vibrant colors, you can create a stunning image. The artistic media you choose can also have a huge impact on the appearance of colors. Mediums like watercolors and colored pencils will be perfect for some light colors, while some colored pencils and acrylics will be perfect for light colors. What would you choose for your photo?
