Preparation Guide for Linux Foundation Kubernetes Application Developer Exam Questions

I choose to continue my studies and sit for the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) exam after preparing for Linux Foundation Kubernetes Application Developer Exam Questions.
Because of the overlap between the two exams, a lot of the preparations made for one can also be used to make preparations for the other.
Having said that, it is clear that the objectives and the degree of understanding tested vary. The CKAD exam is primarily focused on running apps inside a cluster. Whereas the CKA exam, as the certification name says, is more focused on the administrative side of Kubernetes. The CKAD goes into a little more detail. However, the CKA exam does evaluate your comprehension of how to operate and manage applications on a cluster.
If you intend to take both exams, you should think about your background before selecting a starting point. The CKA could be the ideal place to start if, like me, you have more of a background in systems administration; however, if you have more of a developer background, you should definitely start with CKAD.

CKAD Exam Information

The Cloud Native Computing Foundation and the Linux Foundation together produced the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer exam.
The exam is currently based on Kubernetes version 1.19 (January 2021).  Please keep in mind that a lot of the study materials may use an earlier version while you work with them. Be sure to check what version is being utilized when taking the exam because the aim is to synchronize the exam environment with the most recent Kubernetes minor version 4–8 weeks after release.
The exam is lab- or performance-based and requires students to complete a variety of tasks and solve problems using the Linux command line.
20 to 30 jobs must be completed in the next two hours.
You can take the exam from anywhere as long as your location satisfies the prerequisites because it is administered online.
Documents on the lab computer and ONE extra browser tab that can be used to view resources at https://kubernetes.io/docs/, https://github.com/kubernetes/, and https://kubernetes.io/blog/ are available resources during the exam.
Four separate Kubernetes clusters, each with one master and a varied number of workers, make up the exam environment. There are many CNIs in use as well, but neither their installation nor configuration are tested.

Objectives

The ability to create, construct, configure, and expose cloud-native apps for Kubernetes is validated by the Certified Kubernetes Application Developer exam
The certification is described above in words from CNCF. The following are the exam’s objectives:
Domain Weight

  • 13 % are Core Concepts
  • 18% of the configuration
  • 10% for Multi-Container Pods
  • 18% of anything is observable
  • Design for Pods 20%
  • Services and Networking 13%
  • 8 % of states persist

There are no Cluster Architecture or Installation objectives as compared to the CKA exam’s objectives. The configuration target given is testing the setup of Pods and apps, not the cluster itself.
Overall, a lot of Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions will be on your ability to operate and administer applications in your cluster by the objectives. Every application that should be run in the cluster will be made available in ready images. Thus, I don’t think they’re asking you to “create” anything. Instead, you’ll probably be tested on how to execute the image given a specific set of resources.
Research Resources Regarding Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions preparation.
Let’s look at some of the materials accessible for Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions preparation.

Cluster for Kubernetes

The most crucial tool for your Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions preparation is having access to a Kubernetes cluster where you may practice. Because the exam is entirely practical, it’s essential to be accustomed to using the command line to interact with Kubernetes.
A Kubernetes environment can be accessed in a number of ways. You can either provide it through a cloud provider or run it on your own in a home lab. Alternately, you might use Kind or Minikube on your laptop. Online sandboxes like Katacoda are also accessible.
You require a Kubernetes environment in either case!

Foundational Linux Training

Paying Source

I bought a package that included the CKA exam, LFS258, and a training course from The Linux Foundation. Numerous examples of how to complete tasks in a Kubernetes cluster are provided in the training course. There is some video content in the course that provides an overview of the various topics. But for the most part, you will be reading through slides and doing exercises based on this.
After passing the CKA exam and beginning my studies, I made the decision not to purchase the LFD259 course designed to help candidates prepare for the Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions because I believed I already had a firm grasp of the majority of the goals.

Up and Running with Kubernetes

Paying Source

This book was written by Brendan Burns, Joe Beda, and Kelsey Hightower. When it comes to the development of Kubernetes, there are three key players.
Although the book is not specifically tailored to the CKA or CKAD exams, it does provide in-depth explanations of many topics and is valuable for preparing Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions. It provides a sample application that is used to explore various topics and the tasks required to accomplish various goals.

KubeAcademy

Free Source

A free site with lots of video resources is KubeAcademy by VMware. Although it is provided by VMware, the KubeAcademy contains about 20 online courses and aspires to be platform and cloud-neutral.

It offers classes for beginners, intermediates, and experts, as well as a course specifically designed for CKA preparation. I found the films to be a little bit restrictive because they are so brief, or “bite-sized,” as VMware describes it.
I didn’t find this to be useful when it was first introduced around a year ago, but if time allows, I might go back and have another look. Particularly now that they have made longer course offerings available through KubeAcademy PRO, which is still free.
There are presently three additional courses that are more in-depth in the PRO edition of KubeAcademy. One is designed for newcomers and contains an interactive introduction. A course on operational issues for VI administrators, and a course on networking.
The KubeAcademy PRO series’ Network course is a fantastic resource for preparing Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions. It goes over both the fundamentals and more in-depth information about Services, Ingress, and Network Policies.
In conclusion, the KubeAcademy courses are designed with a VI Admin in mind. Therefore, if you’re coming from the developer side of things, they might not be the ideal resource for the CKAD Exam.

Documents for Kubernetes

Free Source

When you are preparing for Kubernetes Application Developer exam questions, documentation is always important for everyone. Since using this resource is permitted during the exam, you should become familiar with its proper use.
