Best Lightweight Folding Knives
The folding knife is one of the main elements of the Damascus set. And often, one of the most difficult. If you have a multi-tool, a flashlight, and, for example, a tactical pen with you, in addition to a knife, all this together can weigh quite a lot.
Since the knife is used, as a rule, more often, its weight is one of the most important parameters. Let’s take a look at the most successful folding knives in our opinion, which have one thing in common: relatively lightweight.
1. Spyderco Delica
Delica is one of Spyderco’s most popular knives, along with Endura and others. As with most of the company’s user-focused mid-range knives, the focus here is on ergonomics. Delica has an FRN (Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon) handle with a special bi-directional texture for a secure grip. In addition, this material is very light, which is important for us. The knife weighs only 70 grams.
It is worth noting that the Delica comes in a wide variety to suit all tastes – different steels, handle colors, there is even a Titanium version with a Damascus blade.

2. Cold Steel Broken Skull
With a weight of 90 grams, this knife has a blade length of 107 millimeters. It’s really impressive. In addition, Cold Steel did not skimp on materials. Blade steel CPM-S35VN is one of the most popular in the knife industry, and a special coating on the blade protects against corrosion. The handle is made from G10 and has a slim, sleek profile. In general, this knife could well be called a gentleman’s knife, if it were one and a half to two times smaller in size. Like Spyderco, Broken Skull has several color variations. There is even a pink one.
3. Kershaw Leek
Kershaw Leek is an almost perfect Damascus. The slim design makes it easy to carry every day, and the sharp blade made from Sandvik 14C28N high-performance steel will handle a wide range of tasks. The blade is a modified Drop-Point so it’s a good slicing knife, and the thin tip gives it piercing capability and the ability to do finer work. Like many knives from Kershaw, the Leek features the SpeedSafe double-sided opening system. You can also open it with a flipper. Even though the knife has a steel handle, it weighs quite a bit, only 85 grams.
4. Benchmade Bugout
The Benchmade Bugout is one of the most popular and talked about everyday carry knives, and with its combination of great ergonomics, high performance, and ultra-lightweight, it’s easy to see why. Its biggest feature is the 83mm CPM-S30V premium stainless steel blade, which is held by Axis’ signature lock and opens with a traditional peg. Grivory was chosen as the handle material for the Benchmade Bugout. This is an extremely lightweight type of nylon that is very strong despite its weight. For even more strength around the lock, Benchmade installed steel liners on the front of the handle. Usually, Axis lock is equipped with a steel retainer, but to further reduce weight, the Bugout was equipped with a titanium variant. Total, the knife weighs 54 grams.
5. SOG Ultra C-Ti
The SOG Ultra C-Ti is a unique combination of a compact folding knife and money clip. Its size when closed is only 87 millimeters, so this knife fits easily into any pocket, replacing a purse. The patented SOG Arc-Lock keeps the knife securely closed and allows you to quickly open it at any time. A secure money clip holds bills and credit cards securely, making the Ultra C-TI an indispensable all-around tool for everyday carry. The knife weighs only 37 grams.
This concludes our ranking of the most successful light knives. We also remind you that on our website you can find a huge number of folding knives, in any “weight categories” and absolutely for any tasks.
