Rolex Air King Limited Edition Golf Club Milano: wrist test
Rolex Air King Limited Edition Golf Club Milano: wrist test
Sometimes I find myself trying on watches which,
through my ignorance, I didn’t even know existed.
They are usually new or little-known models of Case that I don’t follow well.
This time it’s different. A collector of the Orologi & Passioni forum asked me to try a Rolex Air King in
its new reference 116900 (the one with the green writing so to speak).

I asked him why I should try an Air King,
a rather well-known watch. Because it is a limited edition,
he replied. The thing then intrigued me and, to see it live,
I decided to do the wrist test. What is special about this version?
It was created to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Milan Golf Club (which, despite its name, is located in Monza).
To celebrate this anniversary,
the Milan Golf Club, one of the oldest Italian golf clubs and home to 3 consecutive editions of the Italian Open,
has entered into a partnership with Rolex,
which was the main Sponsor of the Open. 90 pieces customized
by Rolex were thus created on the caseback where the emblem of the Club is engraved,
which is the Biscione symbol of Milan since the time of the Visconti.
In addition to this there is the xx / 90 numbering of the clock.replica rolex
The dial is the usual one found on the standard watch.

A quite particular dial as it is very full:
it is a little reminiscent of the Rolex Explorer I dial with the triangle at 12 and 3, 6 and 9.
Unlike the Explorer,
here we also find the minutes indication with numbers
and therefore 5,10,20,25…. The Rolex inscription is,
quite rare, green in color with a yellow / gold colored crown.
Green is also the second hand. The case is 40mm,
with a nice thickness that makes it very balanced on the wrist.
The smooth bezel recalls that of the Datejust. The bracelet is the Oyster which,
on this reference, is all satin,
which I like very much because on the polish there are always micro-scratches (hairlines)
that I don’t particularly like.

This instead recalls the bracelets of years ago all satin.
It is equipped with a folding Oysterclasp
and equipped with a 5 mm Easylink quick extension link.watch
It was a very special test. When you put on a collector’s watch,
you are always worried about creating even the slightest sign on the watch.best fake watches
In this case, being a limited edition, the fear was even greater. Fortunately, I always pay attention to the safety of the watch and, after a week, it was still perfect. On the wrist I must say that it has the right size to be a sportsman. An important but not bulky case and a right weight that reminds us of having a sportsman on the wrist. I have to say (I did not imagine it) that the Air King attracts a lot of attention because it is very little seen around. The green writing intrigues people and the fact of being all satin makes it very special and pleasant despite being one of the less expensive Rolex. I showed the watch to many of my friends and the fact that it was a limited edition intrigued many of them. There aren’t many, indeed, very few. A funny thing happened when I showed the watch to a friend of mine who is the owner of a fashion restaurant where I was having dinner. In fact, he showed it to a player (not being a fan, I don’t remember if for Inter Milan or Milan) who asked me if he could make an offer to have it. I politely declined because it wouldn’t be nice to return some money and not the watch to my collector friend! However, a watch that I re-evaluated because it was very nice on the wrist and very well done. Personally I would have found it perfect if it had a less full dial. The fact that it is a limited edition makes it even more fascinating I think. Just for information, the watch has a list price of 5,800 euros, 48 hours of power reserve, is COSC certified and is water resistant to 100 meters.
