Yasin Valley
Best time to visit Yasin Valley
The time between April-October is the best time for a visit to Yasin Valley. However, out of this time, you will face cold weather and harsh weather too. I visited in the mid of May, and this valley was green everywhere with snow-capped mountains. Still, there was cold at night, but the temperature in the daytime was perfect. Therefore, I also suggest July-August is the ideal time to visit Yasin valley.Because you will also enjoy the fruits and fishing over there in this time. Disadvantage: During these days there is a huge flux of local tourists from across Pakistan.
From Gilgit to Yasin
A local Hiece service is the best option. You have to book a ticket from near Gahdi bagh under the bridge known as Shajee Ada on river view road. Vehicles leave every hour between 10 am to 5 pm. The ticket costs just 500 rupees. Once you are on the Hiace van, it takes 2 hours to reach Gahkuch, and there you have rest for tea, and then the journey again begins, and after 2 hours you will get Yasin Valley(central Yasin). So it takes four and half hours to reach Yasin by local transport. But in return to Gilgit, the vehicles are leaving early at 5 am. So you have also take care of it return.
Weather at Yasin Valley
Also, it gets cold pretty quickly.
The weather at Yasin Valley stays below 30 0 Celsius all year round even in the peak summer season May to October. The weather sometimes drops to 15 0 Celsius when it rains so a jacket and warm clothing are a must.
After October the temperature drops close to 10 Celsius and becomes uncomfortable as you need a lot of gas and firewood to stay warm.
Check the weather before leaving for Gilgit as even in the peak summer season the snow is enough to block traffic for a few days.

This was a very lovely place in the entire Yasin. This is my favorite. This is the point where the Thoi river and Darkut river meet. There is a small cabin for refreshment, and a book and pen are installed by a local artist.Sit there near Thoi river and enjoy the music of the river. We sat there for almost 4 hours. I enjoyed the tea, and it just cost 40 Rs per cup and biscuits are also available.
