10 Things I’ve Learned While Learning Facebook Ads in 2022
10 Things I’ve Learned While Learning Facebook Ads in 2022
I’ve tweaked Photoshop slightly to show the full features in one image. The color-coded dots show which options for targeting(Click here) appear in the updated Detailed (https://socialfollowerspro.uk/) Targeting section, and the yellow highlight highlights the two new options to either narrow or exclude the Audience.
Although it’s currently an option within Facebook’s Power Editor, I’m willing to bet that this new targeting format will be made available to the standard advertising manager shortly because of the level of detail it allows us to connect with our Audience.
#4 – Location selection does not necessarily mean that people reside there.
Let’s say you wish to target people living near New York City. You can put “New York City” into the box for Locations, keep it at the default 25-mile radius, and continue to move.

If you do that, you may be unable to see the tiny drop-down menu that appears at the bottom of the screen that reads “Everyone at this address.”
Are you seeing it? Now, if you click on the drop-down and look up the information, you’ll discover how Facebook’s targeted targeting becomes far more specific:

This is right. You can not only target residents of the area you choose, but you can also focus on people who are currently in New York City, who live over 100 miles away, and those who have recently visited New York City.
For instance, a 25-mile radius around New York City shows 10,000,000 viewers for “Everyone living in this area,” however, there are only 9,500,000 users for “People who reside in this area.” This is about just 5% of the standard Audience, which isn’t relevant if you’re trying to reach people who live in the area -that’s why you might have wasted 5percent of your advertising budget.
#5 – Facebook’s third-party information goes beyond what you think Facebook is aware of about you.
Did you ever input your household’s earnings into the survey? Are you prone to buying expensive things on the internet?
Companies such as Acxiom collect data about the internet from many websites and sell the data to companies like Facebook to use as “Data Enhancement” to ensure that Facebook can provide better targeting options for us as advertisers. If I weren’t impressed by the incredible possibilities this technology allows me to achieve as an advertiser, I might be worried as a user.
The majority of the information you’ll find in the category of Behaviors targeted is third-party data such as Acxiom, Datalogix, and Epsilon. You can search for a Behavior by typing in the search box or clicking on the box to browse. By hovering over categories, you can get a fuller description, as will the source of data:

#4 – You can choose from four primary methods to access Facebook advertising management, each with different degrees of difficulty.
A Boost Post Boost Post

(Found on your blog and posts as well as your company’s page)
The first is the one that most small-scale business owners think of as the Boost Post button. The past was when it was a common practice. Boost Post option was usually expensive, and, like Adwords Express, you traded ease of use for less control and a higher price. I haven’t tried any of the Boost Post buttons for several years, so it’s not likely to be the case. But regardless, I’d suggest that you invest 30 hours learning about the alternative instead.

– Facebook Ad Manager

The second option is the traditional editor for ads. It’s pretty simple to use and provides lots of control over advertisements that are occasionally running. If you’re a casual Facebook advertising user, its interface offers the most affordable combination of cost convenience, functionality, and user-friendliness.
C — Facebook Power Editor

The third and most advanced is the Power Editor. Facebook Power Editor is not an ideal choice for beginners Facebook Advertisers. It will require some instruction to start using it.

Suppose you’re willing to master Power Editor. There are various options Power Editor features that are not included in the regular editor (like Import/Export to allow you to modify campaigns using an Excel spreadsheet). Additionally, Power Editor users typically see new ads months ahead of the standard Ad Manager, such as Instagram Ads and Product Ads.
D — Facebook Advertising API and Facebook Tool for Ad Management
The fourth way to access Facebook Ads would be through their advertising API. It’s not considered advanced as I believe that most advertisers who use the API will utilize third-party tools such as those available within the Facebook Partner Directory rather than connecting to the API itself. Like Power Editor, API users generally get better functionality sooner than regular ad editor users. There are other advantages in the future that I’m unaware of. Make sure to mention these by commenting below.
7th – It’s tempting to choose mobile over desktop But do your homework first.
In the modern mobile-first marketing time we’re living in, you may be surprised to discover that 44 percent of Facebook users younger than 35 can only access Facebook through mobile devices. This is right — there was no access from laptops or desktops in the last 30 days.

No matter the demographics or age of the target audience, Don’t think that your target audience is browsing through your laptop’s Facebook feed simply because you’re using an all-day laptop editing your ads.
The majority of Facebook users use mobile applications, so a large portion of your ad set ads might never be able to get clicks by desktop-based users.
